The team at Fu Dog Media has been building websites for over a decade and in that time have gained a vast amount of experience and knowledge that we incorporate into every project. We wrote this FAQ page to answer many of the frequently asked questions we were asked during our journey.
I don’t have a clue about websites, how does it work?
Never fear, Fu Dog Media is here. You can learn about our time proven process in our processes section, but basically we start with a free consultation to determine the scope of the project, your goals and wants, your budget and a plan of action. We can even send you a helpful questionnaire to get your mind right.
How much does a website cost?
The cost of a website can vary depending on various factors. Our website projects generally start in the $3,500 range for basic business sites and range upward depending on your company’s unique needs.
How long does it take to design and build a website?
The time it takes to produce a website depends on the size and complexity of your site and the quality of content that you have ready to go. A basic website typically takes around 4-5 weeks from beginning to end while some bigger projects can take several months. Having your content together helps to expedite the process.
Do I need my own domain name and web hosting?
We can either work with your existing provider, or we can provide hosting and domain services for you. We highly recommend WPEngine for website hosting as they are the best in the business. Feel free to choose a plan, buy it, and we can build your site on WPEngine for you.
Will my website work on mobile devices?
Yes it will. All the websites we design work on all devices. There is no other way to build a site as the world is now dominated by smart phones.
Do you do ecommerce/Online Store websites?
We sure do! Check out some of our recent E-Commerce stores.
What is a Content Management System?
A Content Management System is a tool that allows you to maintain the pages of your website yourself, without the need for any technical skills. A CMS allows you to edit and add pages, images, products or blog entries to your website. No additional software is required – all you need is a web browser and an internet connection. Our preferred content management is WordPress.
